And it was one plop after another, the stones never skipping more than two times before vanishing under the rather mysterious depths of the Black Lake. Enchantment? Naw. Just lack of skill... but since stone-skipping had never actually been a fascinating hobby for Kirsten, she shrugged off her inadequacy easily. Having finished the romance that Lily had recommended only a few minutes before, the Hufflepuff suddenly found herself with nothing to do. Except skip stones, but that wasn't quite the fun Kirsten imagined.
Lying back on the grass, black robes splayed out, the Hufflepuffian gazed at the cloudless blue sky, lost in the daydreams that often accompanied such a pleasant scene. The hardships of her studies, social responsibilities and need for something to do melted away, leaving Kirsten as exposed as a giant on a grass field.

Serena came walking acrossed the grounds and seen Kristen and said, "Hey!" She then walked closer and continued, "Whats up?"

Not noticing Serena's approach, Kirsten gave a startled jump to her feet, little pieces of grass still stuck to her wispy golden hair. Smoothing down her ruffled feathers [figuratively, of course], the Hufflepuff hastily removed all of the intruding plants, easily freeing them through the time-tested combination of shaking and smoothing. Scarcely a minute after hearing Serena's first 'hey', Kirsten was quite ready to return the reply. Standing up very dignifiedly [...] as if nothing had happened, the daydreamer responded.
Oh you know... world politics... my sandwich... all very interesting, of course.
Studious green eyes observed the other, noting dryly that Serena looked slightly out of sorts in the normal school robes instead of her usual layers. But she didn't comment on it - what was the point? Instead Kirsten asked her own question, one that had been buggering her for some time now.
Hey, you know I've been hearing rumors about some sort of event thats gonna be happening - what do you know about it?
Kirsten hoped - dearly - that they were all wrong and she was just bringing up old ghosts, because the last time the school had hosted an event, the punch ended up getting spiked, thus putting everyone in a frivolous mood, to say the least. Didn't help that they'd all had exams the next day. Shuddering inwardly, Kirsten peered almost hopefully at the other girl, though not for the reasons she might be thinking.

Serena shook her head her black curls going side to side, "No I haven't heard of this event." She then tucked her curls behind her ears.

Phewph. The breath Kirsten hadn't realized she was holding expelled, as if releasing a large knot from her lungs. All was well again in Happyville. Resuming her pleased expression that was held for most of the time, Kirsten immediately plopped herself back down onto the grass, mercilessly bending stalks as she did so. Kirsten patted the spot beside her, a voiceless invitation to sit. Bubbly tone took control of her next sentences, a true testament to the niceness that made the Hufflepuff house famous.
Sooo.... what do you think of... whats his name? Ah yes. Severus Snape? Kind of a loon, hmm? I do feel sorry that James Potter and his little gang keep on picking on him though. Not very pleasant, are they?
Engaging in conversation was something that Kirsten liked doing, and perhaps Serena knew more about the 6th years that she wouldn't mind sharing. And if rebuffed... well, Kirsten could always find something else to talk about.

Serena then said, "I tried to be friends with Snape but he was very rude to me. I don't like what James and his gang does to him all though Remus is sensible and not immature. I've talked to him once never talked to James, Sirius, or Peter." She then sat on the grass and started plucking pieves from the ground.

Now Kirsten felt quite sorry for Severus despite what the other Gryffindor had said, but would definitely conceal that if he ever came around. But she felt no sympathy for James - he sounded quite arrogant. So did Sirius Black and what was their little follower's name? Right. Peter Pettigrew. Yesh. But Remus might be ok - Serena seemed to have a good opinion of him. I really should meet them before forming opinions... maybe in person their different. Quietly contemplating for a moment, she enjoyed the silence and the beautiful scene that was laid out before them.
All of a sudden a song came to Kirsten, one she'd been trying to remember for weeks now. It was by Joel something - Silversmith? - No. But it was quite lovely. Softly she began humming, the ups and downs of the short song fitting to the Hogwarts moment. This time, Kirsten decided, Serena could choose the topic. Taking the scattered pieces that came from the other girl's plucking, Kirsten absentmindedly started to braid them.

Serena looked up and said, "I was unaware that there was such things as Grass hair dressers." She then began drawing with a stick in a nearby patch of dirt.

What? Oh. Yeah. I'm like the best there is.
Laughing like she had in the library, Kirsten abandoned the posh tones she had used for her little statement. Leaning over to see what Serena was drawing on the loose patch of dirt, Kirsten raised an eyebrow.
Might I ask what it is you are drawing?
Perhaps, because it was in its early stages, the drawing was still indistinguishable. It was kind of hard to think, with the lazy aura that emitted from the landscape and the tune that had established itself in her head and would not leave. Companionable silence fell once more, at least until it was broken again.

Serena then said, "I'm just doodling." She then showed her the flower that was forming.

Fascinating, dear. But as much as I love watching you draw a flower, I say we do something slightly more enthralling.
Wondering what it was that most captured Serena's attention hobby wise, Kirsten figured that since most people liked Quidditch [or at least flying], they could go do that. And since her parents had gotten her a lovely new broomstick for Christmas last year, Kirsten was now always ready to fly. Guarding the goals was her strong point, being a Chaser or Beater had never quite appealed. So now the Hufflepuff was practically bouncing up and down with excitement [never let it be said that Kirsten has the boring maturity of an adult] and she realized she hadn't actually asked Serena yet. What an odd sight that must be.
You want to go fly or play Quidditch?!?! C'mon it'll be great! I got a basketball - please don't ask where - so we can use that as the Quaffle!
Kirsten was speaking quite rapidly, pausing only to take quick breaths. Smiling broadly at the other so as to further her cause, it was only through sheer force of will that kept Kirsten from getting up and dragging Serena with her to the Quidditch Pitch. After all, she could just summon her broom and ball when they got there. Anxiously Kirsten fingered her wand, happy to have found the time and company to play her all-time favorite sport.
ooc. if you want to play then i'll start a post in the pitch after you respond. =] maybe we can get some other peeps to join [use the plot board, though most of them are probably reading this] and make it sort of a mock match between all of the houses.

((OOC: Sure go ahead and start a thread and who do you want to do the plot. I am not good at writing plots.))
Serena then said, "Sure Quidditch is a favorite sport of mine." She then stood and said, "Come on lets go."
